Dr. Fab Mancini: You may be somebody that is tired of all the surgeries and all the medications and nothing is getting better. Your quality of life continues to decline. Every single year somebody has more medicine to your regimen. I'm here to tell you that there is hope. There is hope
Speaker:In the game of reversing chronic disease, I can tell you that being in this space for the last 38 years, I have learned that it's really an understanding that every disease process is there to give you clues. They're there to guide you as to what you may be doing that may be causing you not to be well today. And the problem is that many times when people have a symptom or they have pain, immediately, they think, I gotta get rid of it. Just give me whatever you need. And if that doesn't work good enough, then just take it out every single part of your body, every single organ, every single cell, has a purpose. And that's one of the things that I've learned in my last 38 years, is to really be in wonder of how miraculous this body of ours really is. I mean, this is not only a temple. This is really something that is so advanced that many times that's the problem we don't understand the well enough to appreciate the value that he has. We know that in the history of medicine, there has been a lot of people claiming how they've gotten well through different means. And I don't think there's been a condition known to man that at some point or another hasn't solved itself in some part of the world.
Speaker:The more we learn about our bodies, our physiology, our biochemistry, our embryology, all of the things that allow us to appreciate this body, the physiology, the function of the body, all of a sudden, if you get to that point, you're going to look at this body as a high performance car. You're going to say, you know, it's so funny, I find some of my patients are taking better care of their cars and they are taking care of themselves. You know, many times, especially man, you know, we work really hard and we want to give ourselves those streets. And for many men, a very fancy sports car seems to be one of the ultimate achievements. You've seen it in celebrities. You've seen it in musical artists. You've seen it in successful business people. It just seems like it's a status for I've arrived. The thing that I find interesting is the fact that we were already there. We have a Ferrari, we have a Lamborghini. We have the best performing car right here in our bodies. And if you think of your mouth as a flap, right? You're going to put gas. Can you imagine putting bad gas on a high performance car? No, you wouldn't.
Speaker:Can you imagine not servicing that car constantly to ensure that its performance is always at its best? No, you wouldn't. So why is it that if our flop it hurts our mouth, and instead of the flop saying, put great gas right, which we all see in our cars, what about if he said, Eat more vegetables, eat less sugars, eat less preservative foods, take out some of the toxins of oils and things that you're cooking With. Make sure that you don't use for your children a lot of these foods that have dyes that have been banned in other countries. You see, that's what we should be putting through our mouths, but we don't, because we live in a world of fast food. We live in a world that everything has to be quick and to the point we live in a world that we are drinking ourselves to unhealthiness, right? And it seems like alcohol consumption has escalated tremendously over the last few years. We have a lot of people experimenting with drugs, right, recreational drugs. And I thought it was bad enough when we were in the 80s and 90s, but it seems like today they're everywhere, on campuses, on high schools, on workforces, and it's everywhere. I want you to know that this podcast is really about getting you to see this body as the best thing that you have going for yourself.
Speaker:If you take care of its body, it's going to take care of you, because your health impacts every area of your body. You know, I'll never forget a patient that I had when I was in practice, and her name was Rosie, just to give her a name, because I want to protect her identity. And I remember that my office manager Georgia said to me. Oh, we have a patient that really struggling, and she wanted to know if you can make room for her this afternoon. And even though we were very busy, I said, of course, Georgia, if you if she's struggling that much, let's just let the patients know that we have a new patient coming, and I would try to be as quickly as possible. Well, all of a sudden, maybe about an hour later, we see this lady coming through the doors, over 300 pounds, and her husband trying to help her through the door. And immediately, Georgia put her into one of the exam rooms so I could go in there and evaluate her. It says I'm talking to her, she's saying to me, you know, Dr Fauci, I've had seven surgeries. I take about 30 pills a day just to make it through the day. I've had to quit my job. After many years of being a successful artist. In the last three years, I haven't been able to work. I have gained all this weight because of probably the side effects of the medications and the inability for me to move. I live in constant pain every single day. I am depressed, all of these things. So when I have a patient like that, I evaluate them. And I said, you know, I think we can help you, but let's take it step by step, and what I did is that I began to show her that this condition was not a life sentence. I began to show her that there's a human being inside of her that deserves to live healthy, happy, wealthy. I reminded her that this condition was not going to keep her from leaving her life to the full, but that I needed her to work with me see. Because even though I'm a healthcare provider, I'm not in control of your body. You're in control of your body. I can motivate you. I can inspire you. I can even educate you as to what to do. Now, whether you do it or not, that's really up to you, isn't it, so I began to work with her gently.
Speaker:I began to adjust her chiropractically. I began to teach her how to eat healthier and get all of that inflammatory foods, because she was just a fast food addict. She was eating like six times a day all fast food. So I began to teach her, little by little, how to put the right nutrients in her body diets that are anti inflammatory, I began to work with her mindset by doing guided meditations where she saw herself healthy every single day, little by little, I began to teach her about some of the technologies that we have that allow inflammation and circulation in the body to Improve, like avasin and others that allow her to recover much faster, I began to teach her about the ability of that body to heal itself so she can start believing in herself instead of giving up. And little by little, she started improving. And within six months, she was about 50% better. Within a year, she was almost completely well after years of struggling. And then she her husband got relocated, so she moved out of town, and I kind of lost touch with her, and then five years later, I am getting an award that was called Heroes for humanity, and she saw it in the news, and she wanted to congratulate me for that award. And she said, Oh, Dr Fauci, I can't think of a better person to receive that award, because you've been a hero in my life. Now, as a provider, I always give the power back to you. No, you're the hero in your life because you acted upon what I said, what I encourage you to do. You did the work. That's what it takes to be healthy today. You have to get engaged. You can't continue to do the bad behaviors. You can't continue to have toxic thoughts and expect to get well. No matter how much I love you and I care about your health, you have to be the one acting on it. Well. She said these words to me.
Speaker:She said, Dr Fab, I want to thank you. And I said, Oh, Rosie, you've already thanked me many times. You came to every appointment that you gave. You refer a lot of patients to our clinic. You know. No, no, no, no. Dr Fauci, I want to thank you, because what you don't know is that a month before I came to see you, my husband had told me that he wanted to divorce me. My children did not want to speak to me because I was in so much pain. I couldn't hug them. They couldn't be around me. I was irritable every single day I wasn't sleepy. Thank you for saving my marriage and my family. We have the most incredible relationship right now. But she didn't stop there. She said, Dr Fauci, I want to thank you for helping me get my career back. I'm back up again singing. I'm doing all the things. That I love to do, and that's because of you, because I had to quit that before, because of my illness. And then she took a pause, and she says something that, to this day, gives me shivers in my in my skin. She said, Dr Mancini, two days before I came to see you, I bought a gun and I had decided to kill myself. Thank you for saving my life. Now I want you to know that to me, I take that very serious. I see the numbers of suicides escalating every single year.
Speaker:I know that maybe some of you listening right now are thinking about it. I'm encouraging you to stop it. I'm encouraging you to seek out an answer. I'm encouraging you to go to one of the helplines that we have out there all over the nation. I'm encouraging you to go somebody that you trust and discuss it at least. But let's find an answer. I'm hoping and praying that this podcast is going to give a lot of answers to you, because I'm going to give you some insights. I'm going to bring you some of the latest science. I'm going to bring you some of the biggest names in healthcare that are disrupting healthcare, so you can benefit from it. So you can leave your health potential, so you can live your life potential, so you can leave your destiny. I think of Rosie every day, because right now, there's a lot of roses walking around everywhere around me. You may be a Rosie right now that has given up. You may be somebody that is tired of all the surgeries and all the medications and nothing is getting better. Your quality of life continues to decline. Every single year, somebody has more medicine to your regimen. I'm here to tell you that there is hope, there is hope, but we need to shift your mindset. We need to change some behaviors. You need to become aware of what this world of natural healing is all about, functional medicine, integrative medicine. This world is here and now, and there are a lot of answers out there, because of technology, because of what we know in science, and you can benefit from that. So let me tell you a little bit about the sequence of the process that I use in order to make sure that you can reverse your chronic disease.
Speaker:The number one thing that I would tell you is you gotta have awareness. And awareness comes from taking a moment and reflecting upon the root cause of your problem. When did it begin? What was going on at the time? Was it an emotional problem that turned into a physical problem? Because we know today that's possible, right? Your emotions change into chemistry in the body, and they can cause difficult and harmful hormones like cortisol, and they those hormones are very toxic into the body, and they break your body down and you get sick. So that's the stress hormone. As you know, is probably the most harmful hormone that there is, and we're producing it every single day by not sleeping enough, by getting toxic food into our body, by being stressed about our finances, our relationship, our work, everything. So you have to be aware, and you have to ask yourself the question, what is the root cause of my problem? This is where it all begins. I want people to understand that root cause is the answer. Managing the system is not it will never work. It will never reduce chronic disease. The only thing that will do it is getting to the root cause and going there, right there, and changing that behavior. So not only you can use symptoms be gone, but more importantly, you can keep him from ever coming back.
Speaker:The second thing is action. You have to implement some changes in your life, even if you're aware of your root causes and you do nothing. That's like the definition of insanity, right? Doing the same things over and over again, but expecting different results. That's not what we're in the game of. We're in the game of understanding and learning the root causes, and then what are the most appropriate behaviors to be able to reverse that. So you have to have action steps every single day, because your choices every day will lead you to being able to live a very healthy lifestyle. And then, of course, is your accountability. You have to be accountable for the choices that you make, but also the environment that you keep. Many times, I find that we surround ourselves with toxic people, toxic people that have bad attitudes, bad behaviors that continue to toxify our bodies, that continue to harm our bodies, but we continue to do it, expecting different results. So be accountable for your own health. No one can make you be healthy unless you take responsibility for your own health. That's really the key. So this body of yours, you can't trade it in. You know, you can go into a house or an apartment right now and destroy it, but then you can move. You can buy a car right now and not take care of it right don't put any gas in it, don't change the oil, treat it bad, smoke inside of it, tear up the chairs, and you can trade it in. You can actually have shoes that are beautiful, but if you don't take care of them, you can always replace them, buy a new pair of shoes. But this body of ours, you can't trade it in. How many billionaires have I've met over the years that will pay any money, any money, millions of dollars, to be able to stop their pain and their chronic disease, understanding that they can trade their bodies in no matter how much their money they have, they can trade their their bodies. I want you to understand that the early that you start this process, the early that you engage your children, your grandchildren, into this process, the healthier that they can be.
Speaker:Now we do have a problem, and that is that we live in a current health care system that promotes the managing of symptoms more than getting to the root cause of the problem. We know that over 80% of the public out there in the United States continues to follow the same recommendations of pharmaceuticals for everything. I'm begging you to get a second opinion. I'm begging you to please go to one of the healthcare providers that have evidence based, like chiropractic, homeopathic, acupuncture. These are professions that have been around for a long time that can help you be the healthier that you can be. They may give you a different idea, a different activity, a different understanding of what your condition is and how you can solve it. You know, when I was practicing for 10 years as a Doctor of Chiropractic and seeing patients every day. How many patients came to me and said, I wish one of my doctors would have told me that chiropractic was around that would have saved me to have all these surgeries that would have saved me to be able to say no to my football career early on because of an injury that would have saved me to live with chronic pain for the last 20 years of my life, I've heard it all. I don't want you to fall into that.
Speaker:that. I want you to join the:Speaker:You know, if there's one thing that has caused a tremendous amount of addiction in the brain and inflammation in the body is sugars. And the thing is that every commercial that you see out there, or every other commercial, seems to be promoting some sugar something. Sometimes I look at energy drinks and I said, Do people ever take a look at that label and realize what they're drinking, caffeine, sugar, all of these things, just to get that bus, and then what crash down. And then, if you go right now to like Starbucks and some of those things, they say they're coffee houses, but what you're really getting is whipped cream, caramel. All these things in putting your coffee, you give it a very sexy name, they charge you seven to eight $9 and all of a sudden that has become one of the biggest franchises in the world. Why? Because sugar is addictive. In fact, some of the experts say that is more addictive than some of the heroines out there that we have, or cocaine and other things. Sugar is extremely addictive, and we need to be careful. And then, of course, you have all the sodas. Right in some of these sodas, you're getting, like, 20 grams of sugar. When is the insanity going to stop? If, right now, I put 20 grams of sugar in a bag and say, This is what you just drank. You're not going to believe me, I've done it before, I've shared it with people, I've done it on television shows, but that's what we drink every time we drink one of these soda cans. We need to change that. We need to be conscientious. Look, I'm not asking you to change everything in your life. I'm just asking you to make better choices today than you'd made yesterday. And if we continue that process, I know you'll get to the point that this chronic disease is going to lower, and you're going to actually be in a place where you can be much, much better.
Speaker:If you really enjoyed this, this episode, and please share it with your friends. So it's been a pleasure to be with you today, and I hope that something I said today might have encouraged you or inspire you to do something different. Right now, we know that the power of ending chronic disease is in your hands. Let's make it happen one step at a time.
